GuideX Mobile (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This page explains the permissions our mobile app requests, how we use them, and the steps we take to safeguard your information.
GuideX Mobile does not collect, store, or transmit personal data from your device without your knowledge and consent. Certain permissions are required so key features can operate as intended. You can manage these permissions at any time in your device settings.
Used when you capture profile photos, identification images, or scan QR codes tied to your bookings. Images stay on your device unless you choose to upload them to GuideX.
Helps you discover nearby experiences, maps, or directions. Your current location is only used in real time for these features and is not stored unless you explicitly share it.
Lets you add booked experiences to your personal calendar and view upcoming GuideX events. Calendar access is only used to create or read entries that you approve.
Allows you to upload images (for example, profile photos or verification documents) and caches files so the app runs smoothly. GuideX never reads personal files outside of the app context.
GuideX Mobile does not collect, store, or transmit personal data without your knowledge. Any information you upload (such as profile photos or booking details) is handled according to the GuideX Terms & Conditions and relevant platform policies.
Push notifications are delivered through OneSignal. To provide this service, OneSignal receives device identifiers (such as a device token) so we can send booking reminders, host updates, and other relevant alerts. We do not share names, email addresses, or other personal information with OneSignal.
You can control your push notification preferences at any time through your device settings or the GuideX app settings.
GuideX sends two types of emails: transactional emails and marketing emails.
Transactional Emails: Transactional emails—such as booking confirmations, receipts, itinerary updates, password resets, and important account notifications—are essential to delivering the GuideX service. Because these emails are necessary for your bookings and account, they cannot be disabled. However, you may update the email address associated with your account at any time.
Marketing Emails: Marketing emails—such as travel deals, exclusive offers, and personalised recommendations—are entirely optional. During account creation, you can choose whether to receive marketing emails. This option is unchecked by default, in compliance with GDPR and PECR regulations. You can change your marketing email preferences at any time through the app settings. Every marketing email also includes an unsubscribe link allowing you to opt out instantly.
We do not share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes. Marketing emails are sent directly by GuideX or through our trusted email service provider.
Permissions granted to the app are used strictly to power the features you choose. We do not sell or trade your personal information with third parties.
When you enable push notifications, OneSignal (our notifications provider) receives device tokens to deliver alerts. This information is not used for advertising or profiling.
GuideX does not store personal data from your device unless you upload it intentionally—for example, when completing your profile or confirming a booking.
Cached files created for performance are stored locally on your device and can be cleared by deleting the app or using your operating system settings.
GuideX uses the SmileID identity verification service for hosts who complete KYC. When you start verification, the app captures a selfie (and, when available, depth/liveness signals from the device’s TrueDepth camera) to confirm your identity.
This face data is used only for identity verification, fraud prevention, and compliance checks. GuideX does not store raw face images or depth data on our servers.
SmileID processes the capture securely and returns a verification result and reference ID. We store only that result and reference ID as part of your verification status.
Face data is shared only with SmileID for verification purposes and is not shared with advertisers or other third parties.
By using GuideX Mobile, you agree to the permissions and practices described in this Privacy Policy. You may revoke specific permissions at any time through your device settings, although doing so could limit certain features.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. Updates take effect once published, and the “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
